It is worth nine minutes of your time to listen to Newsom’s address to the nation concerning the mobilization of the National Guard and the Marine to Los Angeles. He lays out the threat with great clarity. If you were wavering on whether to participate personally in peaceful No Kings protest(s) this Saturday, June 14th, this will underscore the need to do so.

Governor Newsom and Mayor Bass have eyes on the ground in Los Angeles. The rest of us are being fed seemingly endless loops of a few burning cars by the media and by often nameless sources on social media. As to the question of the wisdom of and motivation for adding a military presence to the mix in Los Angeles it seems proper to defer to Newsom’s (and Bass’s) assessment of the situation.
